Maggots Pest Control

The presence of maggots isn’t very new most notably in areas were filth and grime are cultivated. But it would be a different story if you notice it within your household or nearby surroundings. Maggots are typically the larvae of flies. The expression”maggot” is also particularly associated with other flies like houseflies, cheese fries, and blowflies instead of that of mosquitoes and crane flies.

Maggots are baby flies. They are considered the most cringe-worthy pests in the entire world and are number one villains causing chaos in the food and sanitation market. They are carriers of diseases and food and sanitation contamination can pose dangerous health risks.

Maggots come in large numbers and after they create infestation, penetrating pets, livestock and humans, it poses greater risk in health, leading to”myiasis” or maggot infestation in living tissue. If not treated may lead to further infection and worst case, death.

Becoming Maggot-free

Preventative measures must always be observed to prevent brooding flies and maggots. However, there are also some instances, wherein infestation can’t be found, thus, a call to professional pest specialists is a wise decision to help you once you’re caught frustrated with maggot infestation.

Extremely happy with the services provided, we had a very knowledgeable technician Sean came to attend to the possum issue in our townhouse, Sean found the openings where the possums came in on the roof right away and patched them up. When the previous pest control company failed to do. But being a two level building with a separated garage roof, it was very difficult to trap the possums still inside, but Andrew the boss and Sean kept trying and finally got the problem all solved. Friendly to talk to and easy to work with so Highly recommended.

Maggots: What are they?

Maggots do not easily exist out of nowhere festering on trashes, cadavers and carcasses. They’re the brood of flies and they are thought to be the first phase of a fly’s life cycle. A maggot is a larvae and they are hatched from fly’s eggs and feeds voraciously until it culminates with the beginning of the pupal stage. After pupal stage is done, the maggot becomes a fly.

Maggots are fly larvae. They hatch when flies lay their eggs in trashes, cadavers and carcasses. They are whitish in color and almost the exact same size as rice grains. These larvae feed on spoiled food and lifeless matter. They can voraciously eat in order to develop into the next stage of the fly cycle, which is becoming a pupa. Once the pupal stage is completed, they will grow and become a fly. This cycle goes on and on and when detected before, their presence will not come to exist.

The maggots usually resemble moving rice grains, but they are somehow bigger and they’re whitish in appearance. They feed anything natural, occasionally fresh but often times they dig in to rotten vegetables and fruits and cadavers. Now that we know about what maggots are, the next issue is how to eliminate them.

Maggot Control

Maggots exist in filthy regions. If you keep your own house and environment as spic and span, of course, there may be no maggot infestation. But, there are some instances that they still invade your homes.

  • First of all, it would be best to search for signs of infestation as preventative actions. Check areas that are hard to clean. Since maggots are so tiny, they’re usually present in small, dark areas and wall surfaces. Look in the drainage, sub-floor cavities, around sinks and damaged floor tiling.
  • Check territories that are difficult to clean. Since maggots are so small, they are normally present in little, dim places and divider surfaces. Look in the waste, sub-floor cavities, around sinks and harmed floor tiling.
  • Do not leave your kitchen and dining area a mess. Keep food from lying on counter tops and clean the dishes and the area after use.

Doing these little things will help you avoid the unwanted but in some cases when the infestation is still present, better call in the help of pest experts.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the spray you use stain my carpet?

You don’t need to worry about any damage to the carpets such as staining due to the fact that the products we use water-based. They do not contain strong solvents that are likely to cause any problems for the colouring or finishes of your carpets.

Will I need to vacate my premises while you spray?

No, you will be quite safe to stay at home while we carry out the spraying procedures.

What should I do if I accidentally touch any of the areas that have been sprayed?

This will only be a concern if the sprayed areas are still wet. Should this happen, wash with soap and lots of water as soon as you possibly can. After a relatively short period of time, the carrier, tap water will have evaporated and will not harm you in any way should you come into contact with the area.
